Degree Audit Reporting System at the University of Nevada

The Transfer Articulation Process

Transfer articulation refers to the process of accepting transferable courses taken at another institution and assigning a match, or equivalency, for a Core Curriculum requirement or a specific University of Nevada, Reno course to those that qualify.  Courses that transfer for academic credit but do not articulate (no specific match is assigned) are given an 'elective' identity.

If a student has transfer work, his or her DARS report will include a section called TRANSFER COURSES toward the end of the report.  This transfer-requirement will have lists of any Equivalent UNR Courses, Courses that may satisfy University core curriculum requirements, and Courses that have no UNR equivalent assigned submitted to us via official transcripts and evaluated in Admissions and Records. Depending upon when the transcripts were processed, it may also identify and list courses that were determined to be non-transferable.

Articulated transfer work that already satisfies specific requirements will be used in those requirements on the DARS report.

Both student and advisor are urged to review the courses listed in the TRANSFER COURSES section of the report to verify that transfer work is being used to complete as many degree requirements as possible.  If you find any courses listed in the NO UNR EQUIVALENT ASSIGNED section that you would like to use to complete college, major, or minor requirements, please refer to the instructions on the Processing Substitutions or Waivers for College, Major, or Minor Requirements page.

Please visit our transfer articulation web application. It allows you to see how coursework taken at selected other institutions will transfer in to the University of Nevada, Reno.
