The aim of the API Heritage Project is to provide academic and social support to the Asian American and Pacific Islander student body as well as to increase the University and larger community awareness of the different cultures within these populations.

Student Clubs:
The Asian American Student Association (AASA) of the University of Nevada, Reno is a student group dedicated to the understanding of Asian American awareness in our community. We are dedicated to building lasting relationships through shared experiences while furthering Asian American culture. We strive to dispel negative Asian American stereotypes through education and outreach. Our goal is to provide support in all areas of cultural awareness involving students, faculty, and the community in exploring and critiquing current Asian American issues.

The Pilipino Undergraduate Student Organization’s (PUSO) goal is to promote Filipino culture and make citizens aware of its presence in Nevada. We welcome students of all colors, shapes and sizes to join our club and experience our culture through weekly meetings, socials, fundraisers, and most importantly, friendship. PUSO’s main goal this year is to balance its social nature with more philanthropy. Our club is a non-profit organization that strives to creatively inform students of a wonderful, fast growing country full of passionate people.
PUSO’s most highlighted events are intended to engage members and get them excited in participating. Friendship Games, Scavenger Hunt, Filgrad and various language and Food Workshops are made possible by our officers. Friendship Games is an exciting, competitive field day conference in Fullerton, California for Filipino clubs from all over the state. The University of Nevada, Reno and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas have recently become out-of-state exceptions. UNR has ranked top 8 out of over fifty schools for all four years we have attended. Scavenger Hunt, another fun mingling event, is exactly what its name says-it’s a hunt for a list of items that need visual evidence – digital pictures from your camera! In addition to the aforementioned events, Filgrad is a special ceremony for soon-to-be graduate members. Their friends and family are invited to honor their accomplishments. Through these events, we achieve a high level of cultural awareness and we maintain strong friendships with not only with our members, but with the Reno community, the University of Nevada student body, other universities.

Founded during the summer of 2008 by Olivia Astrero and Joseph Agor, this club was created to provide a “Home Away From Home” to students who are from Hawaii and for those that are not. It was also created to gather people who share an interest in the Hawaiian Culture or learning about the Hawaiian culture. Our mission is to spread the Hawaiian culture around the University campus by demonstrating Hawaiian values and having fun while excelling academically.

Lambda Psi Rho (LPR) Strives to develop brotherhood and individual growth through discipline, integrity, and commitment while upholding the ideals of our Founding Fathers: leadership in the community, pride in all that we do, and respect for all persons.
Lambda Psi Rho is a unique fraternity at the University of Nevada, Reno. As the first and only Asian-interest fraternity at UNR and in the State of Nevada, we continuously strive to promote brotherhood and diversity, foster leadership, succeed academically, and serve the community. Although our fraternity is in its infancy, the Multicultural Greek Council has already awarded us Outstanding Chapter of the Year. From shaving our heads at St. Baldrick's to renewing and revitalizing plants at the City of Reno Rose Garden, we take great pride in giving back and helping our community. Go Wolf Pack!
