Emerita; M.S.W. 1987, University of Utah; Ph.D. 1993, Bryn Mawr College. Before her retirement in 2008, Professor Jones was coordinator of the MSW program and taught graduate courses in research and human development and an undergraduate core/diversity course on the relationship between personal biography and social issues in women’s narratives. Her research interests include gender and quality-of-life issues in health care and women’s issues including health, menopause, use of hormone replacement therapy, and life span development. Her most recent research focuses on women’s work within a global economy and research on women casino workers.  Since her retirement, Professor Jones has been primarily focused on completing a book on the latter.  The book – Casino Women: Courage in Unexpected Places –   co authored with social work faculty, Susan Chandler and published by Cornell University Press, is scheduled for release in September 2011.  Professor Jones is currently preparing for the second stage of a longitudinal research study in which the sample of middle-aged women she interviewed about their aging experience more than twenty years ago will be re-interviewed.
