About the School of Social Work
The School of Social Work at the University of Nevada, Reno, with the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program established in 1974 and the MSW program in 1989, is clearly committed to and reflective of the land-grant mission and values of the university.
The university’s mission is to “emphasize undergraduate, graduate and professional programs which meet the needs of the citizens of Nevada.”
The School of Social Work reaffirms the land-grant ideal and unites it with the values and commitments of the social work profession through education, research, and public service.
