IMMUNIZATIONSAdmission requirements: If you were born in 1957 or later, you must present documentation of immunization for the following before you can be admitted to the university: Two doses for measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) and an immunization within the last 10 years for diphtheria/tetanus(Td). If you were born before 1957, you are exempt from the MMR requirement. However, you are required to have a diphtheria/tetanus immunization within the last 10 years. These immunizations may be obtained from the Washoe County Health Department (775) 328-2400, located at 1001 E. 9th St. International students have additional requirements and must contact the Student Health Center (775) 784-6598 before registration. If you are currently enrolled, you may also obtain these immunizations from the UNR Student Health Center. Immunization hours are 8-4 Monday through Friday except Wednesday 9-4 on a walk-in basis, no appointment necessary. MMR and Td or Tdap are included in the Student Health fee. If your health care fee is not paid, then the cost is $10 for MMR and $5 for the Td. Please bring any prior immunization records in with you. Other immunizations available for a fee at the UNR SHC are: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Twinrix (combination Hepatitis A and B), Pneumovax, Influenza, Menactra and Menomune (meningitis), Varicella (chickenpox) and HPV. PPD (to screen for tuberculosis) is also available for $5 with the health fee, $8 if the health fee has not been paid.
