The SEC Annual Classified Recognition Reception is an annual event held on the first or second Wednesday in June to recognize classified staff and their years of service with the University. Also recognized at the event are recent retirees and the SEC Employee of The Year. The reception provides a great meal and there is usually a lot of entertainment value to be had in the speeches presented on behalf of the honorees. The Staff Employees Council fundraises to pay the expenses of this event and excess funding is contributed to the Classified Staff Development fund.
