Employee of the Year
Michelle Hoyt Michelle’s contributions to her department (Foreign Languages and Literatures) and to the University are quite astounding both in quantity and quality. She researched, presented and facilitated the migration to a network server for all Foreign Languages and Literatures employees. All faculty now have permanent back up files for their work as well as greater security and privacy. She also researched and developed online teacher evaluations through WebCT and initiated a study comparing rates of return among three groups.
Michelle presented a plan and convinced faculty to enroll in monthly payroll deductions or to make contributions to the establishment of a scholarship endowment account. She implemented marketing strategies and materials for student and donor recruitment.
Michelle created a Language Fair for middle and high school students, held on March 11, 2006 and it was attended by 1,400 students. The standard of excellence that Michelle displays is a tribute to the University and Staff Employees Council.
