The Geography Department at the University of Nevada, Reno offers a comprehensive and rigorous study of landscape change and human-environment interactions across a full complement of degrees that includes two undergraduate degrees, a minor and a master's and Ph.D. The undergraduate coursework emphasizes proficiency in human geography and physical geography, geospatial methods, and human/environment interaction. The Geography Department encourages the use of geospatial technologies (GIS, Remote Sensing, and Cartography). Departmental specialties include the American West, biogeography, climatology, cultural historical geography, land use planning and water resources.
