Classic Frontier Dress: Sleeves

The sleeves appear to draw inspiration from the late 1840s and 1850s. This is seen by the sleeve puff placed at the upper arm. The lower sleeve is cut with room to move, on the straight of the grain. Originally this may have made better use of the fabric. This cut is also seen more frequently in the 1860s. The draw strings become the practical mechanism to control and/or tighten the fit of the sleeve at the wrists.
