Evening Gown: Bodice

The bodice closes in the center back with hooks and eyes. An insert has been added to broaden the shoulder area. At one point, the side seams of the bodice were let out.

The bodice is corded at the neckline which is cut to reveal a low décolletage. Cording, to strengthen the seams, also appears at the neck, armscye, shoulder seams and finishes the lower bodice edges. The bodice is lined with cotton. The six front darts and the center front of the bodice are boned. The V-ed center front of the bodice is quite deep and the cording runs from point to shoulder. The back of the bodice is cut in one piece and on the bias.
