Day Dress: Sleeve

The shaped sleeves are fully lined, and cut on the bias. The lower edge of the sleeves are trimmed with three rows of the satin bias placed about 1/4" apart. The small armscyes are not as uncomfortable or as limiting as they might seem upon first look. The shoulder seam of the garment drops over the shoulders, the back is cut wider across the shoulders and the underarm seam is higher than in contemporary clothing construction. Thus, more of the curve is in the bodice than the sleeve cap.
