Required Text: Reaching Audiences: A guide to media writing, McAdams and Elliott (1995). Published by Allyn and Bacon. ISBN 0-02-378351. Assigned chapters will come primarily from the first three sections of the text: Components of Good Writing, Improving Writing, and Gathering Information.

Recommended Text:

Optional Text: Zen and the Art of the Internet: A beginner's guide, Kehoe (1994). Published by Prentice Hall. ISBN 0-13-121492-6. If you are new to the Internet, this book will serve as an understandable and readable resource for answering many of the questions you will have.

Lecture Notes: The instructor will be post notes to the course website, each week focusing on a different topic.Lecture notes may expand upon content discussed in class or may touch upon peripheral issues of using the Internet as a teaching tool.

Assigned Reading Links: Throughout the course, online readings will be assigned that will provide diverse perspectives on the use of technology in and out of the classroom. Most often, you will be directed to links from the online lecture notes. Some online reading assignments, however, may be made in class.
