Where would I find a Reading Buddies program?

Find out if your school has a Reading Buddies teacher, a literacy specialist or a reading teacher. If so, contact this teacher to see what is available at your child’s school. If there is no reading teacher, contact the principal or school counselor. You might also contact your local school district or Reading Coordinator to find out about any district programs. Another possibility is to contact your local university to see what programs they have for children who experience difficulties in learning to read and write. A good place to look is in the College of Education. The University of Virginia, for example, has a Book Buddies program that preceeded this program.
