HTML: Language of the Web

The programming language that Tim Berners-Lee developed at CERN in 1989 is called Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). As you may recall, Hypertext is what allows documents to refer to other documents or files on the Web and is the highlighted text that you see on web pages.
