Center for Healthy Aging
Advances in medicine and in our understanding of the aging process have made it possible to manage most of the conditions that debilitated our grandparents.
An age of unheard-of potential — the promise of healthy aging — truly is at hand.
The Sanford Center for Aging and University of Nevada School of Medicine are collaborating to create a Center for Healthy Aging in Reno. This combination medical clinic, research laboratory and learning center would bring together the resources of University of Nevada, Reno programs in medicine, nursing, speech and hearing, social work, psychology, public health and other fields, and then focus those resources — as never before — on the issues and promises of older adulthood.
Development efforts to establish and staff the center have already begun. For information on contributing, contact Dr. Larry Weiss, Sanford Center for Aging director, at (775) 784-4774.
