Senior Outreach Services Education Talks

Senior Outreach Services offer free public talks by experts on aging throughout the year, usually at one-month intervals. Check the events section of this website for the next schedule talk.

Geriatric psychiatrist Dr. Steven E. Rubin explains why staying mentally, physically and socially active is key to averting dementia. He even sings about it! Dr. Rubin spoke at the RSVP Senior Outreach Services (SOS) Volunteer Education Talk Sept. 1, 2009, in Reno.

Silver Series

The Silver Series free presentations on healthy aging are lunch-time talks by experts in such fields as medicine, nutrition, exercise, education and investing. The talks are usually held monthly during the academic year at the Joseph Crowley Student Union Great Room on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno. Healthy snacks are provided, and it is suggested that attendees bring a bag lunch.
