The GAP is part of the Sanford Center for Aging and offers both a 24-credit Academic Certificate and a 18-credit minor in gerontology.
The GAP is an interdisciplinary academic program providing a high quality multidisciplinary course of study that focuses on the process of aging and older adults. Courses in the GAP explore social, psychological, and biological aspects of aging while encouraging critical thinking, inquiry, and expansion of contemporary notions of aging. A core component of all GAP course work is the application of course content in real life experience via service learning projects.
