Education & Training Programs
The Sanford Center for Aging is constantly developing programs to improve and extend the skills of health-care professionals and non-professional caregivers.
Taking Charge
The Sanford Center for Aging is launching an ambitious new training program designed to teach people with chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes and arthritis how to manage their conditions. Self-management is a key to living a healthy life.
Research shows that people who take this program — developed at Stanford University and taught worldwide — improve their healthful behaviors and decrease their days in the hospital. An early focus of the Nevada program will be on sight-robbing macular degeneration.
