Dr. Weiss' professional experience over the past 25 years encompasses health and aging services administration, research and management as well as program planning, process evaluation, program development. His experience has primarily focused on issues relating to health and human services, and the best methods for achieving cost effective, quality public and private delivery systems.
Dr. Weiss determines the center's mission, vision and strategic goals and works with senior staff to determine program objectives. He is responsible for the oversight of the Sanford Center for Aging's endowment and all program budgets. He plans, develops, and implements potential projects and pilot programs which contribute to federal, state, and private grant proposals to secure essential funding for aging, geriatric and gerontological issues.
Dr. Weiss is a delegate to the 2005 White House Conference on Aging and serves on the National Council on Aging Leadership Council, and is the president for the Special Advocates for Elders Board and the Nevada Public Health Foundation Board.
