Nominations are sought for the 2014 Spedding Award by November 30, 2013.
The Spedding Award was instituted in honor of Frank Spedding, faculty member at Iowa State University, as a leader in the development of the Institute for Atomic Research, the Ames Laboratory and of chemical separation and purification methods for the rare earth elements.
The Award recognizes the accomplishments of an f element scientist, either in industry, academia, or governmental institution, and is given for outstanding and long-lasting contributions to the science and/or technology of the f elements.
The nomination committee is composed of the RERC Past Chair (Dr. John Sarrao, committee chair), the current RERC Chair (Prof. Ana de Bettencourt-Dias) and a representative of the RERC Executive Committee (TBA).
Nomination packages, which include the letter of nomination as well as letters of support and a full curriculum vitae of the candidate, should be emailed to Dr. John Sarrao (sarrao@lanl.gov) by November 30, 2013.
