Community Advisory Board (CAM)
The School of Community Health Sciences Advisory Board serves as a bridge between the School and the community – offering advice, collaboration and support to enhance the mission of the School. SCHS is dedicated to developing and sustaining long-term relationships with the community to ensure the ongoing relevance and vitality of our programs.
The mission of the SCHS Advisory Board is to enable an effective partnership between the community and the School by:
- Advising the School leadership.
- Assisting with development of short and long-term goals and objectives.
- Providing guidance and advice to develop and continuously improve the curriculum.
- Assisting with accreditation process of professional degree programs.
- Assisting in the identification and recruitment of promising students to the School.
- Helping to ensure that SCHS students have good internship experiences and good professional opportunities available upon graduation.
- Serving as advocates for the School and assisting with outreach to the community.
- Promoting the financial development efforts of the School to help improve and sustain funding sources.
Members of the board are a diverse cross-section of the community who share a strong commitment to Public Health and to advancing the mission of the School. Members of the Board are drawn from the School’s key constituent groups, including public health agencies, non-profits, health care providers and alumni.
