Research Interests
Exercise physiology:
Athletic performance- physiological determinants of aerobic capacity, dynamics of myofiber recruitment, periodization in competitive event preparation, biochemistry of overtraining syndrome, development of field testing methods for fitness assessment, secondary effects of hyperoxic training methods. Modalities of exercise intervention for weight loss.
Cardiopulmonary physiology:
Regulation of pulmonary vascular tone, development of hyperreactivity in the asthmatic condition, vascular response to aging.
Environmental Toxicology:
Development of biomarkers for assessment of pesticide and contaminant exposure, mobility of contaminant body burdens during episodes of stress. Wildlife toxicology. Health risk assessment of contaminant exposure in humans.
