	Welcome to the Department I am pleased to welcome you to the UNR Department of Psychology. The department is dedicated to excellence in teaching and research as well as providing service to our community. Providing high quality undergraduate education is central to our mission. The faculty profiles demonstrate our serious commitment to research that makes a difference on a variety of levels. This research would not be possible without the support of our greatest asset - our students. Graduate and undergraduate students are an integral part of all of the work described here. It is critical to our mission to continue to create a learning environment that supports the creative scientific inquiry of our students. We have a very large undergraduate program, with students choosing a wide variety of career goals. There are many opportunities for students to be involved in faculty projects and we encourage this important form of faculty student interaction. While we have a strong research focus, it is our goal to conduct research that will make a difference in the lives of those we serve. In this vein, we hope to continue to enhance our collaborative relationships with the community in order to better serve our various constituencies. Victoria M.
