About

 Origins

Psychology United is a graduate student organization formed in 2004 and recognized by the Graduate Student Association at the University of Nevada, Reno. The organization was originally founded in an attempt to bridge the gap in the Psychology department between the Behavior Analysis, Clinical and Experimental programs. Since its inception, Psychology United has worked closely with representatives from the undergraduate program and in 2005, representatives from the Social Psychology program began to work in conjunction with the organization.

Goal

Our continuous goal is to bring the students and faculty together in our respective programs in order to work more closely and efficiently.

Previous Accomplishments

In 2004 the organization successfully raised over $1500 to set up a scholarship fund to provide financial aid to undergraduate students working on their bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

In the fall of 2005, Psychology United set up a raffle to benefit hurricane victims.

Together we raised a grand total of $1761!

All proceeds of the raffle went to International Medical Corps, an excellent nonprofit organization assisting with health care in the Gulf Coast region. In conjunction with the raffle, the organization also hosted a social gathering at Pub & Sub the second weekend in December.

Congratulations and THANK YOU to everyone who supported the cause and/or event. We appreciate all your hard work and effort!
