Research Statement

My research is motivated by an intense passion for understanding how and why I experience the world the way I do. I employ psychophysical, eye-tracking and neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG) techniques to investigate the phenomenological and neurological bases of visual perception and how visual processes ultimately lead to our conscious experiences.

Current Research Questions

How do different visual processes (ie. form and motion) interact in generating our perception of the world?
How are our percepts influenced by local and global processing of visual information?
What do form-motion and local-global interactions tell us about functional organization of the visual system?
How are the processes the underlie our conscious experiences influenced by having those conscious experiences?
