NABA Workshop Schedule

Full Day Workshop:
Teaching Language to Children with Autism.
Presented by Mark L. Sundberg, Ph.D., BCBA, Behavior Analysts, Inc./STARS School.
A workshop on language assessment and intervention for children with language delays. This introductory workshop will cover the basic elements of B. F. Skinner´s analysis of language, language assessment, and beginning a language intervention program for a child who has little (less than 100 words) or no verbal skills.

Dialetical Behavior Therapy

DBT is a comprehensive program for treating borderline personality disorder and chronic suicidal behavior. This workshop will provide an introduction to the theory underlying DBT, an overview of DBT treatment model, targets, and DBT treatment strategies, an introduction and overview of DBT skill training modules, and opportunities to discuss applying DBT in your treatment setting.

Introduction to Behavior–Based Safety.
Presented by Thomas E. Boyce, Ph.D.
This workshop will provide an introduction to the key characteristics of behavior–based safety. Intended for managers and safety personnel from industry, the session will include interactive experiences designed to promote an understanding of the principles of behavior–based psychology, employee–driven observation and feedback, one–on–one coaching, and positive–focused strategies to promote employee involvement in safety. Dr. Boyce has worked with several Fortune 500 companies and is an energetic and entertaining public speaker.

Functional Analysis

This workshop will provide practitioners with a comprehensive overview of how to design, conduct and interpret functional behavioral Analyses for a variety of behavior problems. Learn the most recent details of how to actually do Functional Analyses and how they relate to Functional Assessments in general

Assessment of Basic Learning Abilities: How it relates to teaching.
Presented by W. Larry Williams, Ph.D.
This workshop will provide information for teachers, trainers, and direct care providers regarding a learner´s ability to understand and learn through visual and auditory channels. Once determined, this information is then used to adjust teaching, training, and caregiver strategies so they are appropriate for the learner´s level of comprehension.
