SLOs and The Professional Educator: How SLOs Are Used at the University

Student Learning Outcomes differ from Course Objectives. Both are required on any syllabus produced at the University of Nevada, Reno. While many of you are familiar with course objectives and have used them consistently in the production and distribution of syllabi, many are not as familiar with the requirement for student learning outcome statements (which should follow course objectives on the syllabus document). SLOs are required by our accrediting body and by the Office of the Provost. This page, as well as several other resources, will help you build SLOs for any and all courses taught at the University.
