UNITS REPORTING TO THE PROVOST'S OFFICE:

Extended Studies supports the land grant mission of the university by providing programs that advance and disseminate knowledge to all citizens, helping to improve society at the state, national, and international levels.

The Nevada Agriculture Experiment Station was established by the federal government through the hatch Act of 1887 to insure that agricultural research geared to specific geographic regions would be conducted.

The University Libraries

The Academic Advising Center serves as the academic home for students who have not declared a major.

The Office of University Assessment exists to assist university and college departments in assessment of the effectiveness of programs and activities through the fathering of accurate, relevant, and consistent data.

The Excellence in Teaching Program seeks to enhance and recognize excellent and innovative teaching by university faculty and graduate students by providing resources, professional development opportunities, and support for such activities.

The Honors Program exists to provide undergraduate students with an opportunity to participate in a variety of academic, professional, and social activities designed to nuture and promote their capacity to think competently, understand deeply, and act ethically.

The Intensive English Language Center provides English language instruction to students preparing for university study and to students wishing to improve their general English ability.

The Office of International Students and Scholars works with international students and scholars by assisting them in completing university and government paperwork necessary to travel to Nevada to study or research and to transition smoothly when they arrive. In addition, the office offers a wide variety of activities and programs to promote intercultural understanding.

The University Studies Abroad Consortium is an organization of 31 universities housed ath UNR that offers university students a variety of opportunities to live and study in a foreign country as part of their college experience.

The Office of Professional and Graduate School Planning is a central resource of information and activities for students interested in pursuing a post-baccalaureate education.

The Northern Nevada International Center is a sponsored project of the University of Nevada, Reno, providing a wide variety of resources for local residents and visitors interested in international activities and events.
