Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
Civil engineering includes the planning, analysis, design and construction of physical systems involving structures, soils, mapping, water resources, transportation, hydrology, water treatment and supply, wastewater treatment and disposal, and water quality management. Students with a particular interest in environmental, geotechnical, structures or transportation/materials may select the appropriate track from one of these areas. Two cooperative training programs are available for civil engineering students. Both programs offer financial assistance to the student through summer employment with the participating organizations.
