Anthropology
Anthropology is the comparative and historical study of human origins and human societies and cultures. The department offers four separate disciplines: biological or physical anthropology, cultural anthropology, archaeology, and linguistics. Graduates work as teachers and researchers, or in museums, government, or private industry.

College of Liberal Arts
The College of Liberal Arts contains the disciplines of the humanities and social sciences, as well as the School of the Arts and the new School of Social Research and Justice Studies.
A liberal arts education at the University of Nevada, Reno emphasizes inquiry, discovery and openness to new ideas and perspectives. Through intensive study of a major field and broad exposure to other disciplines, liberal arts students develop intellectual curiosity, research skills, eagerness to discuss difficult questions and the ability to define and solve complex problems.
