Animal Biotechnology


The Animal Biotechnology degree gives students a scientific background encompassing both theoretical and practical training with molecular and biochemical techniques used in biotechnology. In addition to traditional classroom training, students gain extensive hands-on laboratory experience that employs molecular biology techniques used in gene research, such as cloning and gene transfer. Highly focused, practical research training may also be obtained in a specific area of the student’s choice. A background in Animal Biotechnology is designed to prepare students to either become directly employed after graduation in the expanding biotechnology industry or to pursue further graduate work in a related field.
