John K. Carothers serves as the Vice President for Development & Alumni Relations at the University of Nevada, Reno and Executive Director of the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation. Reporting directly to the President, Carothers oversees all development and fundraising efforts for the University, including philanthropic support, the management of the University's endowment and diversifying and fortifying relationships with Nevada alumni
Prior to his current position, Carothers served as Vice President of Institutional Advancement at SUNY Plattsburgh, in Plattsburgh, N.Y.; Vice President at Wilson College in Chambersburg, Penn.; Special Assistant to the Majority Leader of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and as a Pennsylvania Assistant Deputy Treasurer.
Carothers obtained a baccalaureate degree from Allegheny College in Meadville, Penn., and a master's degree from Penn State University.
