Reporting a Crime
Emergency
Emergency situations should be reported to a 911 dispatcher. If you are calling from a campus phone you must dial 9-911 to reach emergency dispatch.Major crimes such as murder, sexual assault, domestic battery, assault, arson, use of weapons, and breaking and entering, should be reported to the police immediately.
Non-Emergency
If you need an officer to respond to your location for a non-life threatening crime report, call non-emergency dispatch at 775-334-COPS (334-2677).

On Line Reporting
You may also report a non-emergency crime or suspicious situation by using the on-line report form. The form can be used to report any crime in which immediate response to the scene, or investigation of the scene is not necessary. The form will be submitted to the police and will be processed by a police officer. Please make sure all contact information is complete so the officer can reach you.

False Reports
It is a crime to file a false police report in the State of Nevada. In accordance with NRS 199.120, FALSE REPORTS WILL BE PROSECUTED.
