Interests
include: history of philosophy (esp. the rationalists),
metaphysics, philosophy of mind (esp. the emotions).
Since he has been at
UNR Dr. Lucash has taught a number of classes, anything from ancient to
contemporary philosophy, from logic to world religions. Recently,
he has taught several introductory classes--Introduction to Philosophy,
Introduction to Metaphysics, and Modern Philosophy. Advanced
courses, Dr. Lucash has taught have been Metaphysics, philosophy of Mind
(consciousness), Theory of Knowledge, The Passions and Continental
Rationalists (including individual classes on such figures as Descartes,
Spinoza and Leibniz).
Recently, Frank Lucash has given talks at two conferences--one at the
American Philosophical Association in Chicago and another at an
international conference in Jerusalem. For some years his research
has been on the philosopher, Baruch (Benedict) Spinoza. Dr. Lucash
has published on most aspects of his philosophy, including mind/body
relationship, freedom, the infinite, truth, eternity of the mind, good
and evil, substance, self-esteem, intuitive knowledge, immanence,
method, existence and essence. He is currently working on his
political views and on the relation between politics and religion. |
