Graduate Student Philosophy Conference on Philosophy, Virtue and Personhood will be held at Loyala University Chicago, April 11-12, 2014. Papers are invited from a broad range of philosophical perspectives, operating in both continental and analytic traditions, on topics pertaining to the role of philosophy in shaping the self and in living a good life. Deadline for submission is December 15, 2013. Full papers (up to 3,000 words with 100 word abstracts, should be sent to in a .DOC or .PDF format. Flyer

PHLING 2: Language and Other Minds conference will be held at the University of Maryland, February 14-15, 2014. PHLING is a research group of students and faculty from the departments of linguistics and philosophy at the University of Maryland. Papers are invited on the topics at the intersection of linguistics, philosophy, and neighboring disciplines. The topic of Language and Other Minds is attitudes and attitude ascriptions, with a special emphasis on knowledge ascriptions and related phenomena such as presupposition, factivity, and evidentiality. The 16th Annual PITT-CMU Graduate Student Philosophy Conference on Ethics, Knowledge, and Scientific Inquiry will be held at the University of Pittsburg, March 21-22, 2014. High quality paper submissions are being invited in any area of philosophy, but especially in those related to the theme, "Ethics, Knowledge, and Scientific Inquiry." This theme should be construed broadly and may include submissions related to ethics including applied ethics, epistemology including formal epistemology, and philosophy of science.
