Undergraduate - General Philosophy Major or Minor
Philosophy is an energetic and friendly department with a faculty of active teacher-scholars whose areas of interest and expertise cover a wide span both of topics and of historical figures. We provide students with an undergraduate education that is both broad and current.
The department includes seven regular faculty members, plus part-time faculty. In recent years, we have had, on average, sixty-three majors and fifty-seven minors.
The general philosophy major is designed for students who wish to get a broad understanding of philosophy and to cover the basic areas of philosophy, including required courses and three emphasis areas: history of philosophy; metaphysics, epistemology, and the history and philosophy of science; value theory.
The general philosophy minor is for students who want a broad philosophy minor as a complement to their major.
