Hours of Operation:
The campus parking system is a self-supporting enterprise. We receive no state appropriations, as state policy prohibits the use of tax dollars to support the system. Therefore, all parking expenses are paid by parking permits and fees purchased by students, faculty, staff, visitors and others who park on campus. Parking fees are established to provide sufficient annual revenue to cover the cost of repairing and operating parking lots as well as constructing new spaces. In order to keep those fees as inexpensive and equitable as possible, all users—including those who work here—share the costs.
Short-term, day or night metered parking is available for $1.50 per hour, and most meters can be paid for 2 hours. Some meters may offer parking for as little as 30 minutes or for as long as 4 hours. Meters are located throughout the campus for your convenience and are enforced Monday - Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
If you need to visit campus frequently, you may want to purchase an annual, semester or monthly parking permit from the Parking and Transportation Services Department. If your visits to campus are less frequent, you may obtain a daily permit. The daily permit prices for 2013-2014 are listed below.
Permit dispensers are located on the top level of both the West Stadium and Brian J. Whalen Parking Complexes. These machines take cash and debit or credit cards. Daily permit prices decrease after 3:30 p.m. and are as follows: $3 for the West Stadium Parking Complex and $5 for the Brian J. Whalen Parking Complex. After 5:00 p.m., the fee for Silver 11 parking is reduced to $3 for the remainder of the day.
Due to construction and maintenance in the Brian J. Whalen Garage, visitor parking on the top floor of the garage may be limited. Visitors may be directed to metered parking or to the West Stadium Parking Complex.
Deliveries may be made free of charge at any loading zone located throughout campus. In order to receive the free 15-minute parking at the loading zone, make sure that the handle on the loading zone meter is turned. Service Vehicle spaces may also be used; however, you must first obtain a FREE temporary Service Vehicle Parking Permit. Service Vehicle permits are available at the Parking and Transportation Services office, and are valid for 30 minutes.
