Bicycle Parking Information – Map
Thank you for bicycling to campus – we appreciate your efforts in using alternate modes of transportation to get to campus. In order to provide sufficient parking for bicycles, all bicycles must display an annual bicycle parking permit. Bicycle permits are free and can be obtained at the Parking and Transportation Services Department located off Sixteenth Street. Please use the bicycle application, or you may request a permit by e-mail to mhorton@unr.edu. When requesting by e-mail, include your name, address, phone number and bicycle identification number.
Please park your bike in a campus bike rack or bike locker. It is necessary to enforce this policy to abide by campus safety and ADA regulations. Bicycles cannot be parked in pedestrian access routes or chained to any object other than a bike rack. For your convenience, bicycle lockers are available on campus for a fee of $20 per year as well as a $20 refundable deposit on a locker key. Bicycle tire pumping stations are located on campus for your use, free of charge. In addition, when you register your bike with the Parking and Transportation Services Department, you may obtain 5 free daily parking permits for your vehicle on those days when riding your bike is not an option.
Bicycle Theft Prevention
- Use bicycle parking racks or bicycle lockers at all times.
- Use a good lock. U-bolt type locks are the best.
- Always lock the frame, not the wheel.
- If riding at night, lock your bike at well-lighted rack.
Record your serial number and register your bicycle FREE OF CHARGE with the Parking and Transportation Services Department
