New/Transfer International Student Award

This is a partial scholarship that pays for a portion of the out-of-state tuition (non-resident tuition) for the academic year for which the award is granted. This award is only for full-time new incoming and transfer students using F-1 or J-1 visa status. Applications for the upcoming Fall semester are due April 1st.

International Student Award

This is a partial scholarship that pays for a portion of the out-of-state tuition (non-resident tuition) for the academic year for which the award is granted. This is only for full-time undergraduate students using F-1 or J-1 visa status at UNR. Students must be both full-time, UNR students during the semester prior to and during the semester of the grant-in-aid award.  Applications for the upcoming Fall semester are due May 15th.

Kayoko Okumoto Scholarship

This is a partial scholarship that pays for a portion of the out-of-state tuition (non-resident tuition) for the academic year for which the award is granted. This is only for full-time, UNR, undergraduate students using F-1 or J-1 visa status who are also majoring in Business or History. Preference is also given to students from Japan.  Students must be both full-time UNR students during the semester prior to and during the semester of the award. Applications for the upcoming Fall semester are due May 15th

International Conservation Volunteer Exchange

The International Conservation Volunteer Exchange (ICVE) is a volunteer program for international students who wish to collaborate with American environmental service teams on natural resource projects on public lands throughout the American West. Students can earn scholarships while serving the environment!   • $1,500 for volunteering from May 20 - August 21
  • $775 for volunteering from May 20 - July 10 or July 10 - August 21

Graduate Students

Teaching or Research Assistantships

Graduate students with a record of outstanding academic achievement may be appointed as teaching or research assistants in the department in which they plan to study. These opportunities are limited and usually are available only to students upon admission or who have been enrolled at University of Nevada, Reno after one year or more. Students may be considered for waivers of non-resident tuition and fees. For more information about graduate assistantships, please visit the Graduate School website.
