The International Activities Committee (IAC) at the University of Nevada, Reno encourages the international interests of the faculty and promotes the internationalization of the campus curriculum through activities, programs, research, and international collaborations. Members of the committee are appointed by the Vice Provost and serve on the committee for three years. In addition, there are standing committee members who represent internationally oriented offices and programs at the university, including the Office of International Students & Scholars, the Intensive English Language Center, the University Studies Abroad Consortium, the International Affairs program, and the Northern Nevada International Center. The committee receives funding from the administration and distributes funds annually through a competitive International Activities Grant process. Faculty interested in serving on the IAC should contact the Vice Provost, Bill Cathey.
International Activities Grants Funds are allocated annually to enhance and promote the development of curriculum, programs, research, and other creative efforts that have a significant intey ornational dimension. Emphasis is placed on proposals identifying a meaningful result that contributes to the international strengths of the Universitf Nevada, Reno campus. A high priority is placed on seeding new projects that are likely to offer future developments involving international activities. International Activities Grant proposals are generally announced at the beginning of the calendar year for projects that will take place in the following academic year.
