Undergraduate Research

Nevada offers undergraduates the unexpected opportunity of working with professional researchers on real-world projects

Nevada has long been at the forefront of a national trend to involve undergraduate students in meaningful, hands-on research. The Office of Undergraduate Research has as its core mission to promote, support and publicize undergraduate research in all disciplines at the University. This includes the office’s active establishment of mentoring relationships between faculty and undergraduate students.

The benefits of undergraduate research and internships are many. Students who participate in research usually see improvements in their overall GPA, and find that such experience proves invaluable as they apply to Ph.D., medical and law programs.

Nevada's Office of Undergraduate Research is charged to promote, support and publicize undergraduate research in all disciplines offered at the university. In addition, all of the colleges at the University have developed partnerships with many of the businesses and industries in northern Nevada, providing our undergraduates with internship opportunities that help prepare students for their professional life following graduation.
