The Award-Winning Newspaper of the Nevada Faculty Alliance

The ALLIANCE is the official newspaper of the Nevada Faculty Alliance (NFA). It is published quarterly and is distributed to all faculty members at all UCCSN institutions, as well as to all administrators, regents, Nevada state legislators, Nevada newspaper and television news editors, national AAUP officers and our colleagues in other AAUP state conferences.

The ALLIANCE features news directly affecting higher education in Nevada: reports from our NFA faculty member-lobbyist, our north and south Committee A/Legal Defense Committee co-chairs concerning matters affecting academic freedom and tenure and professional status, reports from our seven campus chapters, timely stories about our Political Action efforts, interviews with legislators and executive branch state officers, communiques from other states and the national office directly affecting higher education nationally, and opinion pieces by NFA members and officers.

The ALLIANCE is the winner of the AAUP's Best Newsletter Award, in the tabloid category, for 1997. The award was given by the AAUP Assembly of State Conferences at its annual meeting in Berkeley, California, June 11-15, 1997.
