The main objectives of this mission were to 1) test the two balloon concept and 2) to test the deployment of an RC paraglider. The two balloon concept is a method for purposely obtaining a “floater” with zero net ascent rate for sustained missions. The RC paraglider was deployed while the balloons were tethered to the ground. The balloons were re-launched, allowed to reach an altitude of about 4000 feet AGL before cutting the first (lift) balloon loose. The payloads were then cut loose from the second (buoyancy) after a few minutes of floating.
