Inside this we place our Kenwood TH-D7A and our Garmin GPS 25

The Garmin and it's battery pack fit into a foam mold we made to cut down on shock and help insulate

Here is the GPS and battery housing fit into the payload box.  It leaves just enough room for the Kenwood to fit on the top left.  The Kenwood is oriented so that the PTT button is facing right and cannot be keyed on accident.  This design also leaves room for a handwarmer to be placed on the inside along with the electronics.

This is much better than our first design where we just threw everything into the payload box and tried to stuff the handwarmer in on top
