Geography's Scott Mensing Named Nevada Professor of the Year

Geography Professor Scott Mensing was named Nevada Professor of the Year for 2010 by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and its partner in the awards program, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. He received his award today in a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Tahoe Expert to Speak About World Water Crisis

The world water crisis is exemplified by the changes at Lake Tahoe over the past three decades, and is directly linked to climatic change, world-renowned limnologist Charles Goldman said. He will present a lecture on the topic, "Lake Tahoe: Five Decades of Change and the World Water Crisis," on Thursday, Dec. 2 as part of the College of Science's Discover Science Lecture Series.
