The first "Campus Conversations" of the 2016 fall semester will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, in the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center Rotunda, Room 201.

The "Conversation," moderated by Faculty Senate Chair Fred Harris and including President Marc Johnson and Provost Kevin Carman, will focus on the theme of "Engagement."

In a letter to the campus community earlier this week, Harris wrote that, "Since the University seeks to become recognized as a Carnegie Community Engaged Institution, this will be a good opportunity for faculty to participate in a conversation with our administration regarding the issues and opportunities surrounding engagement.  What needs to be accomplished in order to submit a successful application for the classification of Carnegie Community Engaged?"

For those who cannot attend, access the event at: www.unr.edu/live

Individuals can also email comments or questions to conversation@unr.edu

Individuals who wish to keep their identity confidential can indicate "confidential" in the subject line.

The next "Campus Conversations" will be held on Nov. 7 and will focus on the theme of "Teaching."

Discussion notes from previous conversations are available on the Faculty Senate website: www.unr.edu/facultysenate
