Fajardo invited to 2015 NFL Scouting Combine

The four-year starter led Nevada in both passing and rushing this season

Nevada senior Cody Fajardo has received an invitation to the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine, which will be held on Feb. 17-23, 2015, in Indianapolis, Ind.

After closing one of the finest careers in Wolf Pack history, the 6-foot-2 dual threat quarterback will now have the opportunity to improve his draft stock at Lucas Oil Stadium.

"To be in the initial group invited to the combine is a pretty big honor," said Fajardo, who was a finalist for the 2014 CLASS Award this season. "I'm really excited to showcase my talents in the 40-yard dash, the shuttle and those events, and more importantly, throw the ball in front of scouts and general managers."

The four-year starter from Brea, Calif., led Nevada in both passing and rushing this season, accounting for 3,544 yards of total offense (2,498 passing/1,046 rushing) and 31 touchdowns. Fajardo earned honorable mention All-Mountain West accolades and also received an invitation to the 90th annual East-West Shrine Game.

Fajardo finished his collegiate career ranking second in program history in total offense with 13,141 yards. He is one of just two players in FBS history to pass for over 9,000 yards and rush for over 3,000 yards in a career, joining Nevada great and 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Fajardo is currently preparing in Los Angeles through a combine training program. Aside from a brief break for the Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, Fla., Fajardo plans to train in Los Angeles through the combine.

Last season, 19 quarterbacks were selected to the combine. Fajardo is the second Nevada student-athlete to receive an invitation to the combine in as many years. In 2013, Nevada lineman and current Cleveland Brown Joel Bitonio participated in the event.
