University of Nevada, Reno exceeds performance expectations with innovative, sustainable food options on campus

October 30, 2014

The University of Nevada, Reno's dining service, Nevada Dining, has been recognized as the National Account of the Year for excellent food, service, and innovation by Chartwells, a national food service contractor. The National Account of the Year award entailed a selection process that evaluated the company's seven regional winners of food service excellence awards based on a variety of criteria. This includes implementation of the overall dining program; operational performance, innovation, sustainability, food allergy preparedness, diversity, community involvement and associate support during the 2013/2014 school year. 

Chartwells is the contractor for all resident student dining, campus catering, and all retail food service locations outside of the Student Union. This includes the Downunder Café, The DC Store, Bytes, BoDawgs, and many more. The Residential Life, Housing and Food Service partner with Chartwells to provide a high quality dining experience for the University through Nevada Dining and Silver n' Blue Catering.
