Scholarship benefit for USAC set for April 15

Staff from nearly 20 locations worldwide to be in attendance

USAC (University Studies Abroad Consortium) staff from nearly 20 locations overseas will be on hand to celebrate and reconnect with alumni, their families, and community members during a scholarship fundraiser on April 15 from 5-8 p.m. The event will take place at Brasserie St. James (901 S. Center Street) and will benefit University of Nevada, Reno students studying abroad.

Tickets are $60 online or by mail and $75 at the door. A portion of each ticket is tax deductible. Tickets include complimentary appetizers and two drinks.

A silent auction will feature items from around the world: Costa Rican masks, original Japanese artwork, and much more. The proceeds from the auction will help fund new USAC scholarships for Nevada students.

Representatives from nearly 20 of USAC's program sites will be in attendance to answer any questions regarding their program. These overseas staff from all over the world will be in Reno for professional meetings and while they are on campus, USAC is hosting this event to raise scholarship money and give alumni and their families in the community a chance to come say hello and reconnect with the staff who hosted, guided, and mentored them while they lived and studied overseas.

This event is for any USAC alumnus in the community, as well as anyone who agrees how important an international academic experience is as part of a University of Nevada, Reno student's college experience.
