Longtime professor Howard Rosenberg sworn in for WCSD School Board

The Washoe County School District welcomed three new members of the Board of Trustees at the board's meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 8, in a swearing-in ceremony that included longtime University Art Professor and former Regent Howard Rosenberg.

Rosenberg, along with former Reno City Councilman Dave Aiazzi and Lisa Ruggerio took their places on the board after a swearing-in ceremony. Trustee Dr. Barbara McLaury was sworn in for her second four-year term on the board.

In a distinguished 46-year career at the University, Rosenberg has taught film studies, art education, and visual foundation. He is interested in the areas of instructional leadership and curriculum, and served on the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents from 1996-2008. Rosenberg now represents District D of the Washoe County School District.

The Washoe County School District includes the Reno/Sparks metropolitan area, Incline Village, Gerlach, and Wadsworth, Nevada. The District provides each of its 63,000 students with a superior education in a safe and challenging environment and is committed to graduate every child career and college ready.
